Flatmancrooked is a non-profit house, and this year we decided to split all of our profits with the authors and designers contributing their work to our books. That’s why we have a sliding price scale at the bottom of this page. For the book and shirt package, $28 covers our production fees. But if you choose to give $50, you not only get a dope book and shirt, but you also ensure that our authors can keep writing and that we can keep publishing them.
Flatmancrooked’s Anthology of Great New Writing Done During an Economic Depression features new fiction by Daniel and Peter Grandbois, Myfanwy Collins, and Michael Bible, just to name a few. It’s about 240 pages of badical prose. Katie Wilson, our guest designer for the project, did immaculate title spreads. Bessie Nadine Sweet, whom we think gives David LaChappelle a run for his money, took the time out of her busy schedule to shoot the cover. Crazy.
If our anthology celebrates the work writers are doing in these hard times, the Bernie Madoff t-shirt celebrates one of the guys who helped get us in this mess. The graphic was designed by Marisa Reisel and is screen-printed on a mint-green v-neck or crew neck by the Flatmancrooked sweatshop staff.
