FMC PRINT JOURNAL

flatmanCROOKED's first edition of the print journal will be released in Spring/Summer of 2008  good time.  We don't have a definite timeframe of how often they will be released or the precise format, but we are not setting these sorts of standards yet because we'd like to strive for the absolute highest quality that we can afford.

But, if you just gotta know, here are some ideas that have been bouncing around:

-When we can afford it, we will produce a hardcover, case bound journal.

-Like Hooey, Brass Tacks & Effigies, the print journal will include fiction, non-fiction and art but it may also include music, the occasional DVD, a paper-doll or two, anything that tickles our fancy - we're open to life's possibilities.

-It will be available for subscription.  This will probably not occur until after the first edition but once we've shown our chops and have the entire lit. community quivering in whatever sorts of shoes those bastards wear (my editor wears Vans), we will offer a package deal to our readers.  Something like, "Pay $100 now and get the next 7 issues, first and before the rest of the sheep.  This will save you anywhere from 5-to-20 dollars."

-Here's the cool thing we just recently came up with:  Chachke!  Each first print of the journal will include a little souvenir.  For example, we are considering a "drinking" themed edition that might include an official fmC cocktail napkin.  It's not much but it's personal.  Your not gonna get this sort of stuff from your run-o-the-mill journal.

-Again, if we can swing it, there will be no ads in the journals or on the website but if we must, they will be small, tasteful, act as book ends and only advertise for/promote the following:

    1.  Other small book-houses.

    2.  Books

    3.  Music

    4.  Chili

    5.  Snazzy hippy clothes.

    6.  Book stores.

    7.  Break dancing studios.

...the above is a very poor example of what a given journal might look like . . .
