TELL IRA GLASS!
In 2009, Flatmancrooked has an extravagant goal: We’re going to get one of our RAUDIO stories on This American Life. TAL is a meritocracy, so we know we’ll only get on if our work is good. But we know our work is good, and it will continue to get better. We just need all our readers and listeners to tell Ira Glass and the rest of his crew at Chicago Public Radio that they should pick up one of our stories. A complete RAUDIO archive can be found here. Once you’ve fallen in love with a story, just use the handy form below to tell those kids in the Midwest. We will be keeping keep track of our This American Life progress here. Whatever news we have, we shall post below the form. To Chicago!

Adrianne Mathiowetz, from This American Life, emails Flatmancrooked! The correspondence, initiated by Ms. Mathiowetz, reads as follows:
- Hello Flatmancrooked folks,
I noticed that on your site, you link “tell Ira Glass” to our contact page — which certainly makes sense. But you may have more luck if you give folks the correct address to send that sort of thing, and make it a mailto link to [email protected]. Our contact page has a lot of options on it, but that one will send them right where they need to go.
Thanks, and thank you for thinking of us!
Cheers,

We responded thusly:
- Adrianne,
We have made the “mailto” switch. Thanks for the heads up on that. Also, nice to meet you. Also, also, how exactly did you hear about us? Also, also, also, we love TAL with our brains and our hearts and the rest of our (metaphorically or literally) sensory organs.
Very sincerely,
Kaelan Smith
Vice President, fmC
To which Ms. Mathiowetz replied:
- Hi Kaelan,
Actually, numerous places: I’m on Goodreads and got a friend request, and then Ira got invited to the group on Facebook (and I manage his account there), and then we got a couple of listener emails regarding that audio piece. Looks neat!
Cheers,
Adrianne
So, what does this mean? Nothing, yet. But we’re on the TAL radar, and our listeners helped us get there. Keep up the good work!
