fmC Anthology

flatmanCROOKED (A Collection of New Writing) will debut on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 (October 11th in Sacramento, California).  The book will feature fiction from both fledgling and famous authors.  We will print only 1500 copies of each first edition, and those will be available first to the readers with a subscription.  Once all first editions are sold, the anthology will be available in a standard second edition by subscription, online, and at major retailers nationwide.  The first edition, therefore, will be collectable and you should collect it.

Submissions for the anthology, "flatmanCROOKED - First Winter" have closed. However, we are currently collecting work for "flatmanCROOKED - First Spring." First Winter will contain new work from James Bartels, James Kaelan, Crystal Cheney, Ha Jin, David Dumitru, Jim O'Loughlin, Bessie Sweet, Thomas McCafferty, Emma Straub and a new translation by Christopher Robinson of a story by renowned authors Jorge Luis Borges and Adolfo Bioy Casares (not currently in print in English).

We are collecting work for "Flatmancrooked - First Spring," to be released roughly February, 2009.

Press & reviews on "flatmanCROOKED - First Winter":

"...the stories are excellent, of the highest quality, and have found there rightful place amongst the legends with whom they share this book . . . The true gems in this book though are the upcoming writers. Starting with Flag Day by James Bartels, a story about swinging for the holidays, to Juicy by Bessie Nadine Sweet, and Thomas McCafferty’s The Man Who Knew Me, two excellently crafted stories about transformation and the brutality of life and life simply . . . The book is as simple and simply beautiful as the site, a credit to Flatmancrooked’s designer and editorial staff."
